Fiji Destination Wedding

Fiji · South Pacific

Fiji is the South Pacific dream — 333 islands with some of the world's clearest water, pristine coral reefs, and a culture so famously warm that 'Bula!' (welcome) is the first word every visitor learns. Destination weddings in Fiji benefit from world-class resorts, genuinely friendly local staff who make celebrations feel personal, and landscapes that range from volcanic peaks to palm-fringed atolls. It's farther from the US than Caribbean alternatives but the payoff is a truly exotic, uncrowded setting.

Legal requirements

Legal ceremony is straightforward

Fiji allows foreigners to legally marry. You need valid passports, birth certificates (original or certified), Certificate of Single Status (or Certificate of No Impediment), and proof of any prior divorce or widowhood. The marriage license must be obtained from a Births, Deaths & Marriages office — allow at least 3 days before the ceremony. License is valid for 28 days. Only Fijian celebrants can legally solemnize the marriage. Two witnesses aged 21+ are required. Marriage certificate receives an Apostille Seal for international recognition.

Always verify current requirements with local authorities or your wedding planner before finalizing plans.
